We have all heard the phrase "Own It!" When you hear it what does mean to you?
I polled a few of my clients, and here is the compilation of their definition:
Own it! Means to take pride in something, namely in yourself. Own your identity, your worth and in a major sense, your health & fitness.
So, how do you OWN IT? You can take command of much of your health and physical abilities to the point of being proud of your accomplishments, your level of success and how others see (and sense) your energy levels- mostly because your energy level and joy for life is heightened.
Fitness is clearly about peak performance. We see it in sports for certain, but it is also about your peak performance as a mom, spouse, friend and co-worker.
Unfit individuals can't contribute on the peak level fit folks can, whether it's at the office, in the community or in a family.
The cool reality is that anyone can improve their fitness levels to the point where their life can dramatically improve.
I say this with certainty as I have spent 30+ years observing people change their lives for the better with even a moderate level of increased exercise. Medically challenged folks like cancer survivors have told me that they feel better, happier and more engaged in life when they stick to their exercise programs.
You can start and stick to your exercise, too. Starting is the hardest part of any project or task, isn't it? Fitness is like that, too. Working with a coach, trainer or savvy fitness friend can boost your enjoyment and increase compliance (a fancy word for "sticking to it")
Start today and by the New Year you won't need those silly resolutions! Need some support? I'm here for you!
